Metal Sonic: A robot that looks like sonic only is obviosley robotic. It is the only thing, perhaps besides shadow, that is stronger and faster than Sonic himself. He can do an overdrive attack that makes him speed up greatly and break through walls. He can also electrify his body but it slows him. A black shield ability makes him maintain normal speed but hurt those around him and defend himself. He captured Amy and threatened small animals. He met his demise in Sonic CD when Sonic tricked him into running into a laser beam generated by Eggman's eggmobile.

Silver Sonic: A robot that was all silver but with red eyes. It looked like Sonic but with screws and was silver. It had no mind of it's own. It would spin its spines before it attacked.

Mecha Sonic: An enhanced version of metal sonic with more armor. It wasn't as fast as his first form but had all the moves of Silver sonic with the added agile movements of metal sonic. It could also use the master emerald to go into a super transformation where it would be able to fire large balls of energy and fake rings.

There are two Metal Sonics in Sonic the fighters. The first is commonly known as Rocket Metal, and has the ability to transform into a rocket. It apears for a breif second in the opening movie and if the game is hacked, you can play as him. He was built by Tails in order to spy on the Death Egg 2. Also, the boss before the final boss is the orignal metal sonic. He has all of the abilitys of every other character in the game and some new ones such as a large laser beam. If the game is hacked, he too can be played as.

In sonic R you could play as Metal Sonic by unlocking him. He had no attacks but could fly over water when maintaning speed. There was also a Metal Knuckles that could glide as well, making him personally the best character in the game.

There were two overall metal sonics in this game but they had nothing to do with the plot except for a breif flashback on Amy's story. In the beggining of Amy's story there is a flashback she has for a few seconds where she is rembering sonic saving her from metal sonic, which is no doubt a flashback to Sonic CD. Also, in the mystic ruins base, but still in the adveture field, on the 2nd floor there are two stasis tubes. One containing a black and silver metal sonic with yellow eyes resembling Silver Sonic, and the orignal Meal Sonic in the other tube. If you go into look mode then it APEARS that the original metal sonic is always looking at you. Finnaly, if you are one to get EVERY emblem, then you will unlock the ability to play as metal sonic in trial mode on all of sonic's stages. Eggman then becomes the menu anouncer.

While he only apeared in the battle remake for the gamecube, in multiplayer you could play as metal sonic. He had no super attacks for getting 20 rings, unlike the other characters, but he could activate black shield anytime he wanted.

In retrospec, this is as cool as he has ever gotten. He is upgraded with the power to copy lifeform data and so transforms into Neo Metal Sonic. After this transformation he locks Eggman in his own jail stating that he is superior. He then tricks everyone into coming to the egg fleet. Along the way, he disguises himself as eggman and copies Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Amy, Big, Cream, Espio, Charmy, and Vector's life data. Also he steals a chao and Froggy (the frog from SA1 who had been possesed by Chaos) so as to copy Chaos' life data. Once everyone gets to the Egg Fleet, and team Chaotix rescues Eggman, they find out it was all Metal Sonics doing. Metal Sonic then transforms himself into Metal Madness, a giant Metal sonic body attached to The final fortress ship. After being defeated by team rose, dark, and chaotix, metal sonic transforms into a dragon called Metal Overlord. Super Sonic, Super Tails, and Super Knuckles then defeat him. Rather or not Metal Sonic survived is still unclear as he apears to shut down after the battle.
